Isaiah Whitehead
Measurements
6'4" 210 lbs 6'5.5" wingspan 21 years old
Pro comparison
A better shooting version of Emmanuel Mudiay or Marcus Smart
Strengths
Isaiah Whitehead was a top high school recruit out of Brooklyn a couple years back. He went to Seton Hall and was doing well his freshman year when he sustained a foot fracture and was sidelined. This year he came back as the focal point of the offense and put up solid numbers while leading his team to victory in the Big East Championship game against Villanova. Whitehead is a smooth player and plays at a good and controlled pace. He is versatile, and has the size and strength to play the PG or SG position. He is a good shooter from 3pt range and has the ability to pull-up quick off the dribble. He does a little bit of everything, he gets boards, steals, and blocks. He is a solid defender and plays with some toughness. Whitehead needs to work on his 2pt % as he shoots a poor 38.9% overall. He needs to finish better in the paint and take more efficient shots. He turns the ball over too much and posts a weak 1.4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. Lastly, his height and length may limit his ability to play the SG consistently in the NBA. Overall Whitehead has the talent to be a solid NBA player, but he needs to refine his game in certain areas. With that said, he could still end up being one of the steals of the draft.
