Strengths
Weaknesses
Poeltl has room to grow, but with some strength training and coaching he will be a solid C in the NBA. He is not franchise player, but he's a player that every team would like to have. Poeltl will need some coaching, but as a rookie he will be able to play solid rotational minutes. He has good footwork in the post and soft touch around the basket. His post moves need refining, but he shows promise. His rebounding has improved since his freshman year and with added muscle he should be a decent rebounder in the NBA. Defensively is where Poeltl excels, he can cover the pick and roll and has good length to block shots. He gets pushed around by larger centers, but he still plays physical. When Poeltl adds strength he will be a much better player. His greatest weakness is his inability to stretch the floor. His shot is awkward and he has no shooting touch. This limits his offense to 2-5 ft from the basket. Overall I think Poeltl will be a solid starting or backup center in the NBA for a long time.
