Strengths
Jamal Murray developed nicely during his freshman year at Kentucky. He played more of a SG position as Tyler Ulis ran the point, but he would still handle the ball a lot in the half court. He does a good job coming off screens and finding ways to get his shot off. Shooting is his greatest strength and he can shoot from anywhere on the court. He played PG this summer for Canada during the Pan Am games which gave him good experience playing against NBA caliber players. He is very crafty with the basketball and has a variety of moves which allow him to get open shots. This makes up for his lack of quickness, but he will still need to develop physically in order to excel against top defenders in the NBA. Murray is mentally tough and plays with a lot of confidence. He meditates for an hour before/after games and has been a hard worker while at Kentucky. He needs to cut down on the turnovers and increase his assist numbers if he is going to play a duel PG/SG position in the NBA. Overall he played great for Kentucky throughout the season and helped his draft stock in the NCAA tournament. He is going to be a very nice player for whichever team that drafts him.
