Jarrod Uthoff
Measurements
6'9" 210 lbs 6'10.5" wingspan 23 years old
Pro comparison
Similar to Kelly Olynyk and Kyle Singler
Strengths
Jarrod Uthoff started his college career out at Wisconsin, but elected to transfer after his freshman year. There was a bit of a mix up and he sat out 2 seasons before suiting up for Iowa. He is a solid player who possesses good versatility and should be able to play some SF and PF in the NBA. He is a very solid defender and can hang with smaller guards, get steals, and has great shot blocking instincts. He is a good shooter and will be able to stretch the floor in the NBA. He is a fluid athlete and can get up and down the floor well, he doesn't have the highest vertical, but when he has time to gather he can be fairly explosive off two feet. Uthoff lacks strength, but he shows good footwork and touch in the post. Uthoff isn't too great at creating his own shot, he is not a good dribbler and lacks quickness. He has a small wingspan which hurts him against taller and longer defenders. He is a decent rebounder, those numbers are good if he is to play more SF, but if he plays more PF then he needs to get stronger and battle for the boards. Lastly, because Uthoff had some issues transferring, he is an older prospect and will be 23 come draft time. Overall Uthoff has some good skills that are coveted by lots of NBA teams, but may struggle against more athletic and stronger NBA competition.
