Kevin Hervey may have been a lock to be a 1st round selection in this year's draft if knee injuries had not limited his college career. At ~6'8" and 211 lbs with a 7'3.5" wingspan, Hervey has the size/length to play multiple positions at the next level. Athletically, Hervey is solid, but has lost some burst/explosiveness due to the injuries. Offensively, Hervey shows the ability to stretch the floor, his shot mechanics are consistent/smooth, and while he needs to improve his shot selection/efficiency, he projects to be a stretch 4 at the next level. He put up some impressive offensive numbers and averaged 20.5 pts per game on a variety of shots (runners, post ups, 3pt shots, etc). He has the ability to attack close-outs off the bounce, but needs to continue refining his handle if he's to take the next step in the pros. Defensively, Hervey is a versatile prospect, he moves well laterally and is switchable in P/R situations, he does a nice job sliding his feet and using his length to cover ground. Overall, Hervey is a buy low prospect who has translatable skills/tools and is definitely worth a flier in the mid to late 2nd round.
