Write Up
Khyri Thomas emerged on the draft scene this year due to his solid two way production and how he projects to fit in the NBA physically/athletically. At nearly 6'4" 200 lbs with long 6'10.5" wingspan, Thomas is a versatile defender who isn't afraid to get physical against larger wings/posts. He has very quick hands (career average of 1.4 stls per game) and was one of the better players in the country at turning defense into offense. Offensively, Thomas is still refining his overall game, but has shown his ability to be an off-ball shooter (41% from deep), create a little off the bounce, and get out in transition. He needs to continue improving his shot diversity in the post and off the bounce if he's to take his game to the next level. Thomas does a good job filling up the stat sheet as he's a solid rebounder for his size (3.3 rebs per game) and capable passer (2.8 asts per game). At 22 years old, Thomas is considered a late bloomer and while he has a high floor he may have a lower ceiling. Overall, Thomas fits today's NBA from a skill set and physical standpoint, he may go as high as the late lottery or as low as the end of the 1st round, but whichever team drafts him is getting a competitive/versatile player who brings instant value.
