Write Up
Shake Milton was projected to be a sure fire 1st round pick in this years draft prior to a season ending hand injury. At 6'5.5" and 207 lbs he has the size to play positions 1-3 in certain lineups, and with a long 7'0.25" wingspan he is able to defend multiple positions as well. Athletically, Milton is a smooth player, but lacks high level quickness/explosiveness to regularly get by guys in ISO situations and/or finish over the top. However, he does a good job using his body and playing angles to generate strength against more athletic opponents. Offensively, Milton is an efficient scorer, he averaged 18.0 pts per game and displayed nice shot diversity with runners, post moves, and shooting. He's a knock down shooter at 43.4% from deep on ~6.0 attempts per game and projects to be a player who can hit open shots and generate some offense off the bounce when needed. Milton has a good BBIQ and tends to play within himself, he does a nice job running an offense and is able to use his size/length to make passes over the top (averaged 4.4 asts per game). However, Milton can force the issue at times, which leads to poor shots or easy turnovers. Defensively, Milton has a good combination of strength, length, and lateral quickness. He slides his feet well and is disciplined when it comes to not biting on fakes or losing his man. Overall, Milton is a nice buy low prospect who can shoot and play multiple positions, if everything recovers nicely with his hand (it should), then he's worth a flier in the late 1st/early 2nd round.
