Sheldon McClellan
Measurements
6'5" 205 lbs 23 years old
Pro comparison
Similar player to Tim Hardaway Jr.
Strengths
Sheldon McClellan would be higher on the draft board if he was 19 years old. He is another transfer, and transferred from Texas to Miami, which caused him to miss a full season. He is a very good athlete, he has a very good vertical and can dunk it in traffic or catch lobs on the run. He is a good offensive player and is able get to the rim, pullup off the dribble, and shoot from deep. He has good length and uses it to get his shot off over defenders or make a nice pass. He has the tools to be a good defender in the NBA, he does go through lapses at times, but when he is locked in, he can be a good defender. McClellan does need to cut down on his turnovers and improve his rebounding. He has an itchy trigger finger and will take bad shots if he has not touched the ball for a while. He lets his shooting dictate the rest of his effort/performance on the court at times. Lastly, he is an older prospect, so he will have to show teams that he can be a contributor in his rookie season. Overall McClellan could be a very nice value pick late in the 2nd round, and he has some good NBA skills that should transfer.
