Vince Edwards returned for his Junior season after a stellar Sophomore season and he and Caleb Swanigan helped lead Purdue deep into the NCAA Tournament. Edwards is a good all around player, he can stretch the floor, but also has a good enough post game to play inside. He played the PF in small ball lineups and was a tough cover in the high post. He has good size and length to play both the SF and PF in the NBA. Edwards is a smart player and has high 3+D potential, which makes him a valuable player in today's NBA. Edwards was fairly consistent, but there were enough times where he scored in single digits to say that he could improve in that area. Another area of concern is the fact that he failed to take a significant leap from his Sophomore season to his Junior season. After losing A.J. Hammons to the draft many people expected him to step up offensively, but he failed to take a larger scoring role. Overall, Edwards provides some valuable skills that fit today's NBA, and he could prove to be one of the better picks in the second round.
