Wayne Selden
Measurements
6'6" 230 lbs 6'10" wingspan 21 years old
Pro comparison
Similar mold of a Dahntay Jones or K.J. McDaniels
Strengths
Wayne Selden is a great athlete who has the prototypical size of an NBA SG. He stayed at Kansas for 3 years and played with some great prospects such as Andrew Wiggins. He is strong and has good length with a 6'10" wingspan. He is a good shooter from 3pt range and has improved his overall offensive game. He is a hard worker and gives great effort on defense and has all the tools to be a good player. Selden needs to work on some of his dribbling moves in order to better create his own shot. He is good at straight line drives and using his strength, but he lacks some good handles to really take his game to the next level. He is a great athlete, but he does also lack some quickness, he has a decent 1st step, but it's not super explosive. He only averaged a little more than 3 RPG and will need to grab more boards in the NBA. Lastly, Selden was not very consistent on a game to game basis. He would have great games where he would take over and then he would regress and have games where he was a non-factor. Overall Selden has all the tools you would want in a SG, but perhaps lacks the confidence mentally, however, if developed properly he could morph into a key role player in the NBA.
