Draft board
The Heat are coming off another good season where they qualified as a top seed for the playoffs. They seem like the only team in the East who may be able to slow down the Cavaliers. The Heat have a decent roster led by Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Unfortunately, Bosh has had more blood clot issues and is done for the season, but he will be back next year. Their rookie Justise Winslow has a bright future and it's amazing he slipped to the 10th pick in last years draft. Their largest free agent is big man Hassan Whiteside. The Heat will have to decide if he is worth a max contract or not. Dwayne Wade will also be a free agent, but it seems unlikely that he'll leave Miami. The Heat will look to bring in some free agents to fill out their roster, but they could also look to sign some undrafted players. Their other rookie, Josh Richardson, is a perfect example of finding talent later in the draft. The Heat don't have any picks, but could use some help at C and backup PG spots.
(Updated 7/17/16) If Kevin Durant hadn't signed with the Warriors, the big news of the summer would've been Dwayne Wade leaving the Heat. It seemed like Wade was just entertaining offers from other teams in order to sign a larger contract with Miami, but it turns out Pat Riley didn't want to budge on the numbers and now Wade is gone. Instead the Heat have re-signed Hassan Whiteside and matched the offer sheet (4 years 50 million) the Nets extended to Tyler Johnson. It's also uncertain whether Bosh will be ready to go by the start of next season. With all that being said, the Heat have a nice young player in Justice Winslow and supporting players in Whiteside and Dragic. The roster may still be good enough to compete for a playoff spot in the East, but it seems the Heat are heading towards rebuilding in the near future. Team Needs
