Draft board
The Hornets are coming off a successful season where they made the playoffs. They have a good coach and some good young pieces in place. Micheal Kidd-Gilchrist got injured early in the season which caused him to miss the whole year. The Hornets have good veterans on the team, but the majority of them will be unrestricted free agents this summer. Kemba Walker, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Frank Kaminsky are the future of the team, and with only one draft pick the hornets will need to make it count to fill one of the many future needs on the roster.
(Updated 7/11/16) The Hornets have made various moves this off-season. One of which was trading the #22 pick to Sacramento for SG Marco Belinelli. I'm not sure what the reasoning was for that trade, but I think they could've gotten a much better player than Belinelli. They lost free agents Jeremy Lin, Courtney Lee, Al Jefferson, and Troy Daniels, but were able to retain Nicholas Batum and Marvin Williams. They also signed Roy Hibbert, Ramon Sessions, and Brian Roberts to reasonable deals. With a healthy Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and a revamped roster they will be competing for a playoff spot next season.
