The Pistons are coming off a successful building year where they made the playoffs. They got swept by the Caviliers, but every game was competitive. The Pistons have a very good young roster and the future looks bright. They robbed Orlando for Tobias Harris at the trade deadline, and they almost sent their 1st round pick to Houston for Donatas Montiejunas, but things didn't work out. Other key players are Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Stanley Johnson, Marcus Morris, and Darrun Hillard. Andre Drummond is a restricted free agent this summer and will likely get a max contract which the Pistons should match. The Pistons could use their picks to add depth and fill a few holes.
(Updated 7/9/16) Stan Van Gundy continued his savvy move making during the draft by selecting Henry Ellenson and Michael Gbinije. Ellenson slipped from a potential lottery pick to the 18th pick. He will be a nice fit next to Andre Drummond as he will be able to stretch the floor. Gbinije is a polished senior out of Syracuse who will add shooting and play making to the roster. Both rookies should make an immediate impact this season and are great pieces for this young Pistons team. Draft Grade: A+ Team Needs
